I have a lot in Montana that I don't visit very often. I bought it 10 years ago just for the machinery that was on it. A couple years back a dead Honda Accord appeared on the lot. I figured it was put there by the woman who lived in a trailer next door who also left 3 cars on her place and another car on the road to my place when she moved out about 2 years ago. She skipped out on her land payments, the guy she bought the lot from took it back, and she hasn't been seen for probably 2 years. I heard he sold the lot to somebody else, but all her junk is still there, including the wreck of a trailer house and plenty of junk appliances and tires.
Anyway, I've known this Honda car was on my place, and wasn't too happy about it, but it didn't bother me much either. It has good tires, which I figured I'd put on my Honda car when I need another set. The inside of the car appeared to be full of bags of clothes, cases of canned food, lots of empty bottles and food wrappers; in other words, nothing but trash. But today I went over there to spray the knapweed and decided to take a closer look. The first thing I found under the trash was a new-in-box timing light. That was a good start because I'd just lost mine and was going to buy another one. Then I found a new set of snap ring pliers, and some new jack stands. By the time I was done, I'd salvaged a good set of 4 gage jumper cables, a dozen quarts of oil and steering fluid, a bunch of assorted cans of brake, engine, and carb cleaners, ether, wd-40, etc, a tire iron, a couple cheap socket sets, several pairs of pliers, a good framing hammer, an unused can of axle grease, a ratchet-type screwdriver set, and various other small tools.
Dodge content: I also found a box containing a new water pump, timing belt, thermostat, and oil filter for a Dodge Colt.
If people want to keep dumping that kind of junk on my place, they're welcome to do it!
