I had a V10 for a couple of years. It was OK. I could put my camper on it and do OK after I put air bags on it. We were right at max weight. I always got 10 MPG loaded and I do not know what it got unloaded as I never drove it unloaded.
I sold it and got F350 dually with the 6.0 diesel. Bot my wife and I are really impressed by the new truck. It has so much more power for towing and etc. I get 12+ MPG with the camper and when I put my truck and trailer on it I am a 22,500 lbs and get 10.3 MPG. The dually is much more stable and it is 10 times the truck as the V10. Again I never drive it without the camper on so I have no clue on unloaded MPG.
