You really ought to fix the choke heater. It'll help both fuel milage and power by opening the choke plate sooner than it would otherwise. If the heater is busted, snag one out of the junk yard. They're pretty much all the same. Just make sure it fits in the old choke pot on the manifold. To operate, it needs to have electrical power when the ignition is on. There is a little switch that bolts to the passenger side, rear of the manifold that controls the power. It's a timer and looks like a little button. There is a wire to it and one to the choke heater. This is also available in a junk yard. After the choke is open, it cuts the power to keep from burning it out.
