Not having books to look it up, but general memory here (S.W.A.G.)
Lines/hardware $350 (repro set of just the steel) $50(local auto shop)
Rubber lines x4 @ $25ea. about $100 (4 hoses on drum brakes, 6 needed on disc's)
4 new wheel cylinders @ $30 each = $120 (or rebuild kits x4 = $20)
Drums new (nice thought!) Used 50$ + turning on hub @ $30ea. (truck shop) $320 (but are you really missing all 4 drums here? if not, save $200, $120 to turn)
Brake shoes total 8, relined w/ exchange @ $20 each pair so =$80 (or $160 if you didn't have cores, but I'd buy a used set to use for trade in first)
Master Cylinder $25-100 depending on location bought (rebuild $5.00)
Total cost $375 - $1150 (low and high shown) (reflects rebuilding parts yourself on Low cost)
(up or down about $200 on the High ends guess would be fair)
Disc brakes front only
Ray's parts (including SWAG for shipping the hubs) $450-$475 (these are HEAVY hubs you know)
Additional parts needed will depend on you. Are you changing Master and all lines (I'll assume so for cost here)
Lines/hardware $350 (repro set) $50(local auto shop)
Rotors $50 ea. x 2 =$100 (I payed $70 each before I saw Ray's list)
Calipers Without core $40 each x 2= $80(with junkyard core if you can get them $18ea x 2 = $36)
Pads around $12 per axle
Master Cylinder $25-100 depending on location bought (rebuild $5.00)
Rubber hoses x 2ea. $40
Porportioning valve ? $25
Total of 2 Disc's $638 - $1182 (Low and High ends shown)
Rear Drums $190 - $345 (Low and High)Low reflects rebuild, High = replaced/new.
Remember the front parts are now available to replace worn rear parts under this estimate.
Total cost $828 - $1557 Disc/Drum setup
For 4 discs with the same #'s as above:
Ray's parts (including SWAG for shipping the hubs) $900-$1050 HEAVY
Lines/hardware $350 (repro set) $50(local auto shop)
Rotors $50 ea. x 4 =$200
Calipers Without core $40 each x 4= $160(with junkyard core $18ea x 4 = $64)
Pads around $12 per axle x 2 = $24
Master Cylinder $25-100 depending on location bought (rebuild $5.00)
Rubber hoses x 6ea. $100
Total= $1364 - $1984 (Low and High ends shown)
So my SWAG is:
Drum /Drum $375 - $1150 (Rebuild vs replace)
Disc/Drum $828 - $1557 (Rebuild vs replace and core charges)
Disc/Disc $1364 - $1984 (core charges and quality desired)
I did all 4 to disc, using local lines (non armored) and tradein calipers, etc. low budget for about $1500
That's 4 disc's with machinist cost added in. Ray takes care of all the machining.
The master cylinder is still included in the cost up there, but if you go with a NEW system, redesigning a mount (or using Ray's) would require work/add cost.
Did I miss anything???
Now if I added ANTI-LOCK sensors to my Command Car............
