I am only familiar with this as it applies to M37's but I know the early and late 420 used in them do not use the same rebuild kits. I did an older one last summer and had to be careful what I ask for with parts. I got my bearings from this guy http://www.jobrated.com/09_transmissions.html
The balance of gears and such I got from AB Linn. All that was original was the case.
