275 = section width in mm
60 or 65 or whatever = aspect ratio or
the ratio of the height to the width
so a 275/60 = 165mm x 2 = 330 mm or 13 in
and a 275/65 = 178mm x 2 = 357 mm or 14 in
the 17 is the hole in the middle
so a 275/60 will sit about 1/2 in lower than
a 275/65.
best advice - run highway tread tires (275/65) as soon as the snow is gone for the season when it returns mount the same size snow tires do not run agressive
m&s tires when there is no Mud or Snow
unless you like to flush money down the toilet
