My Carryall (WC-53) has a 4BTA, NV-4500/NP-205, 4.89's, Power Disk Brakes and Power Steering. Last summer I took her on a trip to Labrador. The total distance was 3411 miles. With my drive line, I can run at any legal posted road speed. At 60 mph I am turning 1950 R's. My fuel comsumption was 25.9115 MPG. For all practable purposes my Carryall is the same as your 46, just closed in and a lot heavier. When I returned from the trip, a wash and refuel and she was ready to roll on another long trip, not even a concern.
My M37, now in construction has the same cummins engine and drive line. When its complete and 'proven', it is going on a even longer trip.
My only concern is your 4 speed and 5.83's. With this combination you may not be able to run at the highway speeds you wish and keep within the RPM limits of the Cummins 4BT.
