Yesterday, my '54 kept stalling after a half-mile of travel. If I stopped and idled, it would go another half mile.
I temporarily put an electric fuel pump between the tank line and the carb, and the problem was solved.
First, I also tried putting the electric pump between the tank line and the mechanical fuel pump, and the same problem existed.
So, is the mechanical pump in need of rebuilding? Should I just permanently put the electric one on the truck, and abandon the mechanical one? Will it hurt anything to leave it there, pumping nothing?
Thanks for any advice.
