Kaegi,
I just replaced the pins on my 56 FFPW. The truck had been used by a Petroleum Co. and then a Water District. The truck had tank in the bed to carry diesel for spraying weeds. After 50 years, the bushings were still good with some wear but not enough to warrant replacement. The pins had more wear and warranted the replacement. The pin that wears the most is the rear spring rear eye bushing pin. The metallurgy of the bronze bushing creates a tough wearing part, more so than the steel pins. Using stock bushings is fine – the key – keep them greased! My new M37 (Steel/bronze) bushings were put back on the shelf for the next owner to replace in 50 years - maybe.
