I had the priviledge of observing a joint agency task force in one of the container terminals. It was shortly after the no immigrants day. CHP, INS, LASO and LBPD there were other agencies involved but I don't know which ones. In any case , They set up a check point and started pulling drivers out of the truck for inspection and documentation. I was told they seized over a hundred trucks and nearly as many drivers.
In addition they seized firearms, drugs, a pet monkey and several other items of interest. The media here was strangely silent. I did not see a single news van on scene. The next day they were there to interview protestors, but it was a non-event as the task force was only for one day.
