Howdy Folks:
I have my 1990 W-350 which I really enjoy, it is my work horse and I plow snow with it, pull trailer etc. It currently has a 318 with the Heavy Duty NP435 and 4.10 gears with a NP205 in it, but I have this low milage 360 Id like to put in it. Currently with the 318 I get 12 MPG, with the 360 in the current setup, that will probably drop to 10 MPG. Seeing that the prices are becoming more reasonable for NV4500's, I am giving it some thought to put one in. So, with this in mind, a few questions: My truck is hydraulic clutch, so will the current slave cyl work on a NV4500 Bellhousing? Also the actual clutch in the truck is still good, so, will I be able to use my current clutch with the NV4500? or do I have to get a clutch disk with a different spline on it? And lastly, do I have to shorten-leinthen driveshafts if perhaps the NV4500 may bye longer the 435? And will I gain enuff extra MPG with the NV4500 to make it worth all this work and expense? Thanks again!
