Here you can see the Intermediate shaft I used (front from the '68 W-200 donor truck and the rear from the Stock M). The Top view is from above and you can see the centerline of the engine, even off set to the drivers side (to better clear the front axel center section) still isn't far enough to the drivers side to line up with the input of the transfer case.
If you are serious about the Big Block, you might look for (I belive a 70's) drive line that had the transfercase coupled with the tranny and the front output still on the passenger side. You would wind up with two new drive shafts, but with the power and operation of the Big Block you might appreciate the lower noise level withe the newer transfercase rather than the straight cut gers unit in the M. The old NP's were some of the stongest, and others here can tell you wich one would be best. Just keep in mind the weak point with all that Big Block Power, even the stock L-Head 6 would break the axel shafts.
