Dont know about the 440. But a 318/360 will fit nicely. A np-435 with a left PTO port is a nice transmission and still allows use of the NP-200 T case. I have a 318/np-435 in my Power Wagon and it performs really nice.

WIll ( in some state) ha ha, has done this conversion. Hope he sees this and shares his knowledge.
