I picked up my Cummins 4BT last night. It came out of a Wonder Bread truck that was picked up through the dovebid.com auction. I did not bid but found it on craigslist. It was a decent buy and it has only 63K miles. It came out of a FORD truck and included the trans and etc. It has a T19 trans which is great as it will quickly mate to the Scout Dana 20 transfer case. The guy that I bought it from is keeping the body for a storage shed. He actually bought 8 trucks and has sold them all.
My 4BT is rated at 105 Hp but I will bump it up. It is a runner and needs no work at all. I actually drove the truck with the engine in it prior to him pulling the engine. Transmission is also nice and tight. It starts so easy I could not believe it. You barely turn the key to the start position and it is running. Obviously it is firing on the first compression stroke. The engine does not have any oil leaks. No oil drips or film at either main seal on on the pan. It does have some soot on the engine expecially near the road draft tube. It has a smaller turbo but it will be enough for my iuse.
The engine will go into my 58 Willys wagon.
