michelle where in az do you live? I live in williams but travel to phoenix all the time. It could be a problem with what roads you travel and where you are trying to get to. There are so many variables and not knowing all of them makes it hard to trouble shoot and or diagnos the problem. I think I speak for everyone when I say we need more info. You may have a bad gauge and sending unit and that is your whole problem. Like I said in the last forum try running a heavier wieght oil, get a oil cooler, get a second tranny cooler or first if you don't already have one, and replace all of your hoses and get your block cleaned out. All these things have been done to my 79' and it also has a 360 I pull trailers alot heavier then 7000 lbs up and down the hills between Flagstaff and Phoenix and also between Phoenix and Payson. Check your trailer and make sure It is rolling right and just be carefull not to burn yourself when It does get hot. The 360 likes heat but not to much. Get a remote thermometer and when the gauge says it's hot pull over get out and check with the remote thermometer(on of those infared type where you don't have to touch the block to get the temp) and compare it to what the gauge says. SO good luck If you want to contact me then email and I will give you a better list of actual parts that I used and where I got them. All the shops I go to are in the metro Phoenix area if that will help you.
