hot diff

just drove my wm about 20 or so miles, the rear diff seemed hot to the touch as well as transfer case is this normal. I am a little concerned as i am running an oil that my cenpeco guy suggested because it is a leak stop oil that acts like 90 weigt but congeals if it hits outside air. when I say hot you can put your hand on it but would be uncomfortable to leave it on for an extended period
