Today was a little rainy in CA, so I decided to inspect the rear spring pins/bushings. I used a 3/8 fine thread grade 8 bolt, and cut threads to the head. Using that, a nut, 2 washers 1"OD, a 7/8 ID steel pipe as a barrel 1/16 longer than the pin. Worked very well for pulling the pins.
Spring eye bushings still in good shape, but pins were shot. They were worn past the normal flat channel that allows grease to lubricate the pin and bushing. Each time I wanted to grease the pins, I had to jack up the truck by its frame to releive the pressure on pin/bushing before I could get grease in. Replaced all 3 on one side of truck, next week end, I'll do the other side. Pin part number is include in PIF under suspension (SK4640) www.partsamerica.com
