Hedge/Osage Orange is tougher to the elements than Locust. Nice bright yellow when cut and turns a carmel color when dry. Saw (pun intended) a guy who made a gun stock out of it and it was BEAUTIFUL. Hard to find long straight pieces but I've had a chunk as a gate prop, on the ground, for 25 years and still going strong. Kevin
