It is not just low wages that employers are attracted to hiring illegals. Workmans comp insurance is rated by type of work and payroll. the more payroll you have the higher your rates are.If you have a workforce and a portion are working under the table your workmans comp rate is alot lower.It isnot just they work harder and etc they are just cheaper to employ. I once looked at a bid that I lost to a illegal and I figgured that he was working for 8 bucks an hour.How can you legaly provide insurance and etc at 8 bucks an hour? Steve
