Hi Mike,
There are exceptions to every rule. I went into Burlingtons biggest Dodge dealer looking for the throwout bearing for my donor 61 D500. They said they have no way to look up anything that old. If I could give them the number they could check but that was the only way. Maybe a box of donuts would have jarred his memory as to where the old books were stashed but then I would have had to wait while he ate up all the donuts.
