One of the main reasons for a 6-12V converter would be to operate a radio. Since the power supply is s switcher, it will generate a lot of radio noise unless you put it in a metal box and put good RF filters on the input and output wires. I don't know if you plan to submit it for FCC EMI/RFI testing, but if you don't you should at least test it powering an AM radio in the vehicle with it, and test it over its full range of load because loading will affect its noise output. It'd be a bummer to get them all designed and be selling them and then find out it's a big noise generator.
