You dont always have to have an appraiser come out to look at the vehicle unless its insured for a crazy amount of money.

You can have an agreed value BUT you better be able to prove the vehicles worth when something bad happens. MY agent said to build a folder of receipts and stuff on my old Dodge and to also keep some auto shoppers handy that show prices incase something ever happens. Put it in a lock box as its really a valuable bunch of papers.
