That is no true as the HUMMER is made of a composite which can be said is plastic. It is even put together with GLUE.
Lets look at PLASTIC as Chrysler was one of the first car companies to incorporate plastic in their cars. AS a mater of fact it was ONLY used in the LUXURY Chrysler and DeSot line in the early 40's because plastic was a status symbol for the rich. Chrysler even produced a small jewelry box made from this same plastic and gave them out with a purchase of a car. Plastics have come a long way since then, and the same can be said of steel too. As the tin some of these new vehicles are made out keeps body shops in business removing door dings.
