The Industrial Chrysler engines are the same as the production engines. They came in L head configuations of 218, 230, 237, 251, 265 CI. The "A" series was a low compression version (6.6:1) and the later "30" series was a 7:1 compression. Some, not many, did have sodium filled valves and valve guides and are marked as such. Also made was an insustrial slant 6 and a V8 318, 360.
Interesting story: A number of Power Wagons (civilain style)were made in 1950-2 for the government that used an Industrial engine with a Magneto. These trucks had NO electrical system and were to be used in the "Hot Zone" of nuclear tests. Some sources say they were made for a possible nuking of China during the Korean war. Electromagnetic Flux destroys conventional electrical systems by inducing a high current absorbed by the wire harness. Does anyone know if these are still out there in privaste hands? I would like to find one.
