The problem with Holly carbs, if the floats are adjusted properly,
is that the power valve is blown. To correct this and alleviate the problem,
Rebuild the carb and put a power valve saver in the carb base. The
problem is fixed and the carb will perform fine.
It only takes a small back fire even a sputter will blow the power valve
and this is what causes almost all the problems.
My friends and I have done this conversion and the Holly works
just fine in all conditions. The other way to go is with a
Rochester Quad. or an Edelbrock Carb (very reliable)
or go the venturi route with a Predator .
