All aftermarket wheels that are not chromed are powder coated, not painted, it's much more durable than paint, but as stated above, any idiot can mess up a finish.
I have 6 sets of powder coated wheels, never had a problem except on wheels that had the bead "adjusted" on trail granite....= )
