But they should be the same on this design. This design was used on everything before WW2 and none of them had a shorter lining. shorter linings did not appear until "floating" drum brake shoe designs cam out. "floating" shoes acctually bind up in the drum requiring less pressure when pressure is applied. the fixed design doesn't really do that, the cylinder is just pushing lining against drum so you need more surface contact to dissipate heat. It would most likely stop just fine but I like to do stuff the way it is supposed to be. and full length will last longer.
