Black exhaust smoke...Do I need a hotter plug?

besides all the other things I am looking at (fuel float level, carb settings, carb issues, etc)

Iam still getting a bit of black smoke from the exhaust when I goose the throttle.

do you all think "hotter" plugs might help?
with my black smoke?

perhaps the truck is using a "colder" plug?

I am running a Autolite #306 currently.

is there a "hotter" plug to replace this with by chance?

Anyone?
