If data tags were not confusing enough already

I got a chance to go to Monroe, WI and look at the Dearth PW tow truck again. Taking Junior's advice I talked extensively with the Owner of the dealership, Bob Dearth. He had lots of pictures of PW's and other old cars and had lots of interesting stories. I asked to take another picture of the data tag on the '51 he has on display in his showroom, (which didn't turn out again). Anyway the surpising statement he made to me was that if he had a truck on his lot at the end of the year Chrysler would automatically send him new data tags to rivet to the side of the door janb that would have the same vin number but would be updated for the new year. He said this was standard practice. So an unsold '54 became a new '55. How do you like those apples Eric. Makes you wonder how many of our trucks were subject to the same change.
