The rear axle seal is a flanged seal. If you look carefully you will see a thin metal flange which is a part of the sael assembly. If you carefully use a knife to insert behind the metal flange you can pry the seal off without damage. You should inspect the outer nut to see if there are grooves worn in it where the seal rides. If there are grooves, you will need to replace both the seal and the axle nut. The nut is the same part used on M-37's and is available from surplus dealers as well as NAPA, etc. Look on PIF files for part numbers.
