You have a problem now because the generator cannot keep up the charge at low rpm's. That's the entire advantage of the alternator. Also with a high output alternator, you would need to re-wire most of the truck's "primary" wiring as the wiring size is substandard for the higher current that you would be putting through it (everything would work really good and brite...right up until the time you have to get out the fire extinghisher....= )
