Not a Dodge but thought many might find this of interest. The Detroit Firemen's Fund is restoring a 1937 Seagrave Pumper for use as a Funeral Chaisson in Michigan and Ontario. This is not your typical restoration as the Seagrave body has been removed from the 1937 chassis and is being remounted on a 1995 Freightliner chassis. This will allow the unit to be driven wherever as the top speed of the Seagrave was about 40 mph. Pictures of the restoration can be seen at http://www.detroitfiremensfund.com/RigPictures.htm
The reason of this post is this. The project is at the point that the mounting of the body components to the Freightliner chassis is beginning. I know that from following this forum there is a lot of restoration expertise out there. This restoration is using a lot of volunteer expertise to keep costs down. If any one is interested there will be a work session on the rig next Saturday in Novi, Michigan beginning at 8 am. Contact me if you are interested in assisting.
