I understand how Current Air brakes work.Service line, emergency line,split system,tractor protection valve,Spring brakes,etc,etc,etc,.
I was trying to help APB, by telling him about Vacuum brakes where used before air in the 30's and 40's And learn myself.
Do you remember Vacuum smi-trailer brakes?
Don't know if they had, break-away protection or not?
