Alright,
An air locker is actually not significantly different from a stock differential. In fact, that is the major advantage - when deactivated it is an open diff with no adverse handling affects. When engaged - it is a totally locked differential behaving like a spool or lincoln locker.
The installation of the locker itself will be very similar to installing a stock differential into the third member. The only modification to this procedure would be drilling a small hole to pass the air line.
The only other issue is an air supply. I will be using a power tank (a compressed CO2) air source for mine. ARB also makes an air compressor specifically for these differentials and they are about $225. 90 psi is required.
No drawbacks that I know of -- other than cost. In my opinion ARB is the Ferrari of locking diffs without the maintanance costs!
Please feel free to ask any other questions.
Dan
