One reason that they do not know much about old iron is because they may not necessarily even be "into" vehicles in general. From what I have gathered, these publishing companies are not nearly as large in staff as what you may think. The few people who work there are good at putting out a flashy magazine each month, but the subject matter may not necessarily reflect what is seen in their resume. They may work for a surfer magazine for a few months, then move onto a bird watching magazine for a few more, then a monster truck magazine. Sometimes the "move" may amount ot only relocating across the hall or into the next cubicle.
If you want POWER-WAGONS, subscribe to the Power Wagon Advertiser. The Maney resources who work there will thank you and you can be assured that they are experts on the subject matter. Heck I would be willing to take a position there even if it were only in the archives department. I have about 15 years of forklift/receiving/shipping esperience. But, I hear that waiting lines can become quite long when work leaks out on those rare occasions that the headquarters are accepting applications.
