The M-37's and M-601's had rubber hoses connected to them and then they were connected to steel lines run in the frame channels up to the engine compartment when they were equipped with the deep water fording kit. The lines then went to the air horn of the carburator. There were vent lines connected to the fuel tank, transfer case and master cylinder as well. Of course the engine air intake and exhaust were extended above the normal routes as well to prevent water from entering.
