I am just talking about my experience with ford diesels. bottom line they have proven to be inferior to the dodge diesels. I have worked on hundreds if not thousands of vehicles many fords and think they have made some great engines over the years but they all get poorer mileage compared to dodge gas engines in my experience so I have never owned one for long. And, on pre overdrive stuff I replaced automatics 10 to 1 as much as I did in Dodge and GM rigs
