I've been in -60 F weather in Montana and nothing would run at all unless it was plugged or parked inside a heated garage. We had -50 F here about 15 years ago that froze one of the trona mines solid for over a month - the owners sold the mine soon after because it cost them so much to thaw it out, replace broken lines and other damaged equipment.
