I would be interested to see if this would even work on a 360 gas. I could understand maybe going down hill but really wonder if the 360 has enough tork to lug along with the convertor locked up. The diesel guys use this option to shut OD off keeping the trany out of the "4th gear" but locked the convertor to help in MPG a little bit when pulling heavy loads. They also said not to forget to unlock it cuz the Cummins will pull you on thru the intersection where you are wanting to stop.

I dont think you got a problem here. I think things are working fine the way it is. YOu want the RPMS up on the tranny and stuff when working hard to help some to cycle the fluid thru the system to cool.
How many of us put the tranny in N to cool it down after a hard pull?
