OB2 testers? still dodge related.

I am thinking about getting a tester to read these pain in the butt computers. I need to fix my piece of crap ford box truck cause the pros are having troubles. As long as I am going to get a tester I would like it to work with my 04 DODGE 2500 diesel.
So does anyone know what I need? I seen this one from autotap.com that reads odb2 on your lap top computer. But I seen earlier posts that Willy-N may have needed an obd3 tester for his DODGE. I think the peice of crap ford 01 E450 takes the odb2.

I wish I could work on these newer trucks Like I used to when I was a kid. a simple tool set and common sense.
