Not shorting but coroded conections can raise the amperage in the circuit. If it was shorted it would go out a lot faster than that. Check the rivet on the fuse holder if it is loose it will make the fuse hotter and cause it to blow due to false heat like to many amps and get it to its trip point faster. Mark
