WC AC Fuel Pump Diaphragm Removal

Okay....so I've gotten the fuel pump outta this '42 WC. It's all there, looks original, glass bowl intact as well. I've gotten it all apart except that I can't get the diaphram assembly out of it. The shaft that the tang pivots on is not made to be taken out...or is it? There are no c-clips on it or anything like that. Once I get the diaphram out of it, then all I need is a new diaphram and gaskets, which I can find easily enough in a rebuild kit.

Any comments are welcome, but I'm really not interested in buying a new fuel pump if this one can be rebuilt.
