I also have a *P25 engine in my 1960. The oil pump has an attachment on it that I have not seen on any any other flathead. I looks very similar to the "relief valve" threaded into the block. Is this attachment related to an automatic transmission from a past life in a Plymouth car? And what what engine oil have to do with an automatic transmission?
On another note, I am about to start this engine up after a rebuild and need any advice on priming the oil system before starting. The rebuild was completed 6 months ago and I don't want to start it up dry.
