The 383 will fit okay but you'll need to get the big block motor mounts (possibly just the insulators), a BB bell housing, you'll need to make sure the crank will accept a pilot bushing, and you may need to get a truck oil pan and pickup. A lot depends on what the engine is out of. Some of these trucks did have BB engines so space will not be a problem.
