Amazing tow! Why did they do it?

Last night I passed this rig going about 40MPH up I-94 towards Fargo ND. I took a 4 hour nap a while later, and passed it again after about an hour back on the road. I took this picture after they got off to get gas at the same exit I was at.

It looked to be two women sharing the driving, I can only imagine the damage they are doing to their car by towing this boat hundreds of miles!

I was wishing I was driing my old 97 1 ton, I would have towed their load as far as I could just to get them up to a reasonable interstate speed.

Anyone want to weigh in on why this is a bad idea?
