I am trying to license my out of state titled trailer, and was required to have it weighed.
I decided to weigh my truck and trailer together also, to get an idea of what can be hauled safely, as far as overall weight (GVCW?) is concerned.
My truck is a 98 Ram 2500 4x4 24V Cummins, regular cab, it weighed in at 6,380#s. Other than a gooseneck hitch, it is stock, with no big aftermarket bumpers, etc.
This surprised me, as my 1964 W300 Crew Cab with Perkins 6.354, big tires, and heavy MU-2A winch came in at 6,860#s.
A difference of 480#s. You would think that the PW would have weighed way more than a the new truck, which substantiates really how heavy duty the new trucks are. as well, even with their "dingmetal" bodies.
Ok - I am done.
