1954 C-1-PW Dodge Power Wagon – $9500 -OHIO
I bought it in 1998 as the second owner, from the City of Sanford, Florida. It has the city ID plate and I have a copy of the original title. It was originally a fire truck (red all over) w/ PTO shaft (included) driving a pump in bed, until it was renovated in 1989 by the city to current brush truck/ parade state (black primer) it is in now.
- Ser# 88786903
- 14900 original miles and counting (I’ve put 1400 on it).
- 230 flathead 6 cyl., 12 volt, starts immediately, runs great
- Factory 5.83 gearing, high load rating springs
- Lock-out hubs (superwinch)
- Brakes (with original booster) stops on a dime on first push
- All windows and windshield work well.
- Gauges, knobs, horn, wipers, vent, adjustable throttle on dash, speedo, emergency brake all work perfectly
- New floor mats
- Head lights, running (cowl) lights and turn signals all work perfectly
- Spot lights on top and on rear individually switched on dash
- The truck is rust free, it came painted in black primer, and it is pretty much ready for a paint job. Metal is excellent and undercarriage has been painted several times (you know those fireman!)
- Great Goodyear tires and spare
- Jack and lug nut wrench/bar
- 1954 model year license plates
- Cab currently has no headliner: I have a headliner kit and windlaces (both new in box) and a vintage -Dodge dome light (wiring and dash switch already there) that I haven’t installed pending a paint job.
- Manuals, original 1 piece bumper, and PTO (removed because it needs seals) and PTO drive shaft.
The rear fenders are original but the bed & tailgate were fabricated (in some serious metal work) by the fire department and it has a beautiful new oak over metal floor. It has nifty locking mechanisms for the gas cans and the original Igloo water can mounted on the side (removable).
The truck was turn-key when I got it with everything as listed above. I have only fixed the horn button, replaced the rear axle seals, threw out the modern strobe “cherry” on top, got the temperature gauge fixed (VPW), put in a new speedo cable, and put in a seat (with seat belts) from a Ford Ranger. The seat in the bed just lifts out.
I’m selling it because I need something I can take all of the family in! You don’t get many “as was” power wagons in this good of shape.
Drive it home as is, or do what little is needed to fully restore it ......$9,500
