I have been to New Orleans a half a dozen times, it is the best and worst of everything at the same time. Not much has changed there except it got real wet this time. I am not putting the disaster off lightly and esp. feel for the elderly and children. But the place has been about the most dangerous city in our great country for a long time. Also about the best place to party and eat, as I have heard. Most of the inhabitants are on permanent break and below the poverty level. As you stated so eloquently, these people knew they were living below lake level, knew it was not going to hold for ever and never worried about it till now. They were finally going to try and fix the problem, no doubt after plenty of the cash was skimmed off the top, when the money was taken back by you know who! the real disaster is in Mississippi. It does give me the blues. As always we will all pull together, black, white, male, female, Asian, European, native Americans, and the ones that came later to rebuild America better than ever! That is every one except the oil companies that is!
