I'm pretty sure they were 105's. But with smaller rounds...I just found the official info; "The platoon is equipped with 3-inch anti-tank guns of World War II vintage, mounted on 105mm Howitzer chassis. Each gun weighs 5,775 pounds and fires 75mm blank shells with 1.5 pounds of powder."
So they are modified guns adapted to ceremonial use, there are 8 guns total, used in groups of 3 or 7 depending upon the type of ceremony and the number of salute volleys required.
