You have to change the cluster gear and the 4 gear on the upper shaft. .One thing to remember is that if you can find an o/d trans 540 if can be Ford, Dodge, or Chevy. The guy i got mine from took everything out of a Ford case. I am not a transmission expert, this was a case of a guy that had done this for years writing out the exact instructions for me to follow.That i can do.
